[English demanding silver]
Good to have that confirmed, but I am confused by the 8-bit graphics:-).
I am guessing that is an English scout demanding of a French colony, but
both have red colour chips so it is unclear to me.

Cheers,

It is an English dragoon demanding of a French colony. Notice the small
splash of blue under the horse's hooves. The other red color chip
belongs to the English ship.

Why must you ask why the chicken crosses the road? Why does he have to
justify himself to you when it's clearly none of your business? Is your
life really so sad that you feel you need to question the actions of
poultry? Can't he live his life in peace? Just let the poor chicken be!

And it seems it is not limited to silver, either.

Moreover, while playing the original game rather too much, I noticed
another thing I had not thought possible. Twice, petty criminals working
as tobacco planters were upgraded to master tobacco planters. Glitch or
feature rarely seen? I don't know.
